Mount Abu
Date: 24-27 January 2000

In 1994, I missed an opportunity to visit this place. It was like this, one of the Principal of a local college offered me a seat to represent his college for mountaineering course at Mt. Abu. I really missed the opportunity due to some reason. But it took five year to fulfill my wish. I must thanks my current organization Aptech since they had organized this event as Year 2000 celebration; business cum tour under the name of Kickoff 2000.

I really felt the tour was worth to visit. Mt Abu is part of Rajasthan state. Fully covered with hills. The atmosphere was very chilled. The ht of this place is around 3200 ft. We find the best route to reach this place from Mumbai is to travel by train till Ahemdabad & then by Bus to Mt. Abu. We started on 23rd of Jan 2000 by Lokshakti mail at 7:30p from Mumbai Central Railway Station. We reached Ahemdabad on the next day at early morning 5:30am. Then we carried forward our journey by Pvt. Bus to Mt. Abu. It was pretty cold in Ahemdabad. We reached our hotel at around 1:00pm. Atmosphere was clear & we all was very much enthusiastic to see the beauty of this place. Fortunately we got a nice resort to stay with a fairly large area to roam  around with Rose Garden, Play ground, swimming pool & so many other facilities. We were 60 in no's.

Next day 25th Jan we visited 4 places. The first one is a Famous Dilwada Temple. All carvings of the temple is done in the marble. I don't have words to write it's beauty & complexity as well the architecture. Then  the other places  we visited are Bramhakumari Ashram. The unique part of this ashram is apart from it's spiritual institutional importance, it has got worlds largest solar cooker which can serve 20000 people at a time. Then we visited Adhara Devi temple again this is historic temple. While entering the Temple one has to sit & then only possible to enter since it was in the hollow part of a rock. After this we visited a sunset point. Nothing different like our normal sunset only difference is the site is developed for tourist. Though the view below this site is fantastic. Many people were cheered up when the Sun wanted to see off the day. In the evening the temperature was around 19 C.

On 26th Jan we visited a Shiva temple at a place called Achal Gadh. Then we went to a highest place according to me of this area is Guru Shikhar. This has a Guru Shikhar temple. The other side of this temple one can see the Radar's of Indian Army for enemy planes detection. From the top one can see another beautiful scenic part of this area. Then we visited a Lake called Nakki Lake which has got boating facility after this we spent one hr. in the main market to see our bargaining skill. Most commonly people liked & bought Handicraft items.

The next day we ended our tour by visiting Ambaji Temple which is 2 hr's.  away from Mt. Abu. by bus on the way towards Ahemdabad. We left our Hotel at around 1:30pm. We reached Ahemdabad Railway Station at around 7:30p to catch the train Lokshakti from Ahemdabad to Mumbai. On the next day 28th Jan all we reached Mumbai at around 7:00am.

It was one of the nice experience I ever had in my wandering life. Finally it is a Nature. Nature is a God. The more you experience it you will fall in Love with the Nature.
