Happy Diwali to all my friends!
We are back from a wonderful climb. Managed to summit another unclimbed pinnacle in Malshej region. The camping site is one of the most beautiful camping site I have ever seen till date. Climbing, camping, cooking, jokes and cool breeze just made my Diwali wonderful. Happy to start new season with new/ unclimbed pinnacle.

Malshej is a mine of Gems and this Diwali 6 of us set off to enjoy one one such unclimbed emerald. Like all desirable things in life this didn't come easy either. It was a long up a steep scree slope continued into a long rickety traverse. But the touch of rock made it all worth the while. It was Kiran's first lead and he moved smoothly till the treacherous scree stopped him in his tracks just before the first ledge. Ravi took over as I belayed him. He tackled the scree like an experienced warrior and soon after 2 pitches reached the summit. Rest quickly followed. All this under the watchful eye of KV who was recording our every move. By the time we all descended to the base the sun had set and we had to tackle the scree down in our headlamps. But with adrenaline pumping in our vanes we soon reached the car for a treat. Watermelon had never tasted that good before. At base camp it was bada khana as usual which followed in a pleasant sleep under the stars. --Meenaz
